It was midnight and stars tattooed the black sky,
just the way she liked it. She loved being able to see the stars everywhere out
in the open field. As she gazed at the stars above she hummed along to the
music playing through her headphones. ‘You’re
gone, gone, gone away, I watched you disappear. All that’s left is a ghost of you. Now we’re torn, torn, torn apart,
there’s nothing we can do. Just let me go we’ll meet again soon. Now wait, wait, wait for me. Please hang
around. I’ll see you when I fall asleep.’
She
ached so bad to grab her cell phone and call her great-uncle but she knew it
would do no good, the only one who would answer was her great-grandma. It was
almost a year and she still wasn’t used to not having her sounding board.
Sometimes she didn’t know what to do when she needed to talk. Yeah, she did
vent to others. Alas, it was never the same.
